Our Story
Oorja DNS, or Oorja Dadi Nani Sahyog, was born out of a deeply personal experience. Our founder's mother, at the age of 65, relied on the support of an 80-year-old maid for her daily needs in India. This elderly maid had to continue working to make ends meet, even though her age made it challenging for her to perform her job effectively. She refused financial assistance, seeing it as a matter of pride, and this dilemma tugged at our founder's heartstrings.

It was this realization that drove us to take action. In response, we launched a new program under the Oorja Foundation umbrella, dedicated to addressing the needs of financially struggling elders. Our mission was simple: to provide essential support and companionship to elderly individuals who lacked the means to meet their basic needs. We aimed to create a world where every elder could live with dignity and respect.
Our Dedicated Volunteers
At Oorja DNS, we are fortunate to have a team of dedicated volunteers, many of whom are students. What sets our organization apart is our commitment to the cause. We don't charge fees, and our management team does not take a single rupee from the donations we receive. This ensures that 100% of the contributions we receive go directly toward supporting our cause.
Our Impact
While our journey is just beginning, we are proud of the progress we've made. To date, we have successfully delivered 40 ration drives, spanning 40 months, and have positively impacted the lives of 20 elders. These numbers are not just statistics; they represent real stories of change, hope, and dignity restored.
